Communications Intern

The Bagley College of Engineering’s Publications Office is looking for one or two communications interns. These students will assist with writing press releases, news articles, feature stories, and promotional copy for the college’s website and print publications. There also may be opportunities to help produce videos, assist with event planning, and design for print and Web.

Applicants should be in good academic standing and have:

  • knowledge of AP Style
  • an understanding of various news writing styles and techniques
  • experience conducting news-gathering interview
  • the ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines


Photography, videography, graphic design and Web skills are a plus and could lead to additional portfolio-building opportunities.

Ideally, the intern(s) will be able to start in the Fall of 2016 on a project-by-project basis (with a few articles during the summer if agreed upon and possible) and work with the office through the 2016-17 school year. This internship can be used for the internship class in the communications department.
