Bagley professor named to statewide “Top in Tech” list

June 30, 2017

Bagley College of Engineering associate professor Lakiesha Williams was recently recognized by a statewide publication for her efforts in the domain of technology.

Williams was one of 28 honorees named to the Mississippi Business Journal’s 2017 class of “Top in Tech.” The honorees came from a variety of industries and organizations across the state, with Williams as the only winner selected from within higher education in Mississippi.

The Mississippi Business Journal recognized both individuals and companies that are making a mark on the technology scene through innovation, job creation, and contribution to the state’s economy.

Williams has been a member of Mississippi State University faculty since 2006, and is currently an associate professor within Bagley College’s Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, specializing in injury biomechanics and bio-inspired design. Williams earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biological engineering from Louisiana State University, followed by a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering from MSU.
