May 22, 2017

For the third straight year, an Electrical and Computer Engineering student organization within the Bagley College of Engineering has been recognized as one of the nation’s best.

Mississippi State’s Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-Eta Kappa Nu chapter has been honored with the IEEE-HKN Outstanding Chapter Award for the 2015-16 academic year. The Outstanding Chapter Award is given out each spring for the previous academic year in recognition of excellence in chapter administration and programs, service to the community and outreach.

About 20 chapters nationwide are usually recognized each year by the IEEE-HKN Board of Governors.

IEEE-HKN is the academic honor society for those studying EEE fields of interest, including electrical and computer engineering. The Society has chapters at more than 230 colleges and universities in the United States and around the world. Membership for students is by invitation only to those that possess outstanding academic achievement, character and attitude. More information about IEEE-HKN can be found at hkn.org.
