MSU Engineering Faculty Member Named to International Post

STARKVILLE, Miss.–Noel N. Schulz of Mississippi State is the new secretary of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power Engineering Society.

The associate professor of electrical and computer engineering will serve a two-year term on both the PES governing board and executive committee in her role as secretary. She has taught in the Bagley College of Engineering for the past three years.

Headquartered in Piscataway, N.J., the IEEE Power Engineering Society is a worldwide, non-profit association of more than 20,000 individuals engaged in electric power engineering. The society provides the world’s largest universe community forum for sharing the latest in technological developments and developing standards in the field.

Schulz received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. A native of Blacksburg, Va., she had eight combined years of teaching experience at Michigan Technological University, University of North Dakota and Virginia Tech before joining the MSU faculty in 2001.
