Hand a person just one little piece of paper many refer to as the “pink slip,” and one has the choice to respond to this action with a positive or negative attitude. Often their point of view will choose their course and future destination. Although it’s perfectly natural to react to loosing a job with feelings of despair and fears of the unknown, many psychologists and outsource/recruiting companies recommend limiting that grieving period to only a few days. Roy Allen decided that positive thoughts were more productive. Eight years ago the British Petroleum Company (BP) cut back and laid-off their workforce. Smart bandages take the "smarts" out of medical tests
A “smart” adhesive bandage may in the future help us all avoid those apprehensive lab visits that require needle pokes for blood samples. If forced to think of engineers and dancing, one would probably conjure-up images of a shrinking violet at a formal, or a gamer trying to find rhythm and timing in the video game Dance Dance Revolution. Alumni Spotlight: Alumnus benefits from his background
Even though he now lives, works and experiences great success in one of the biggest technology markets in the southeast, Danny Windham, a BCoE electrical engineering alumnus, remembers where he got his start and how beneficial a solid background can be. Throughout his career, which currently has him serving as chief executive officer of Digium in Huntsville, Ala., he has maintained a strong affiliation with MSU and the many engineers associated with the school.
