Summer Engineering Experience
K - 12 Outreach
This summer, the Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering will hold the Summer Engineering Experience program on MSU's campus, Canton at MSU's CAVS-E, and now on the Stennis campus. The week-long program teaches children basic engineering principles, teamwork and critical thinking skills, which heighten their interest in math and science. The activities are hands-on, problem-solving and cooperative with an emphasis on engineering. These activities will be done in groups of three or four students, supervised by MSU College of Engineering students, faculty and staff. In addition, the students will spend a portion of the day learning about robotics, experimenting with electronics and sensors, and learning how robots can track their way through various courses. The cost for the program is $250, which includes supplies, lunches, snacks and a T-shirt. NEW ASTRO PLUS SEE: This summer, the Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering and Stennis Space Center will hold the first ASTRO PLUS Summer Engineering Experience program on the Stennis campus. The week-long program teaches students basic engineering principles, teamwork and critical thinking skills, which heighten their interest in math and science. The cost for the program is $180, which includes supplies and a T-shirt. This program is open to current 7th – 9th graders.
