MSCA invites you to our largest annual scholastic chess tournament.
Open to all Mississippi school-aged students.

Registration

  • Early Bird Entry Fee: $30 if received by March 4th, 2026
  • Regular Entry Fee: $40 after March 4th or on-site
  • MSU student and faculty participation: $20
  • Inquire about reduced rates for Title I schools, large families or students in need

Sections

  • K-1, K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12 (Unrated) Trophies: 1st- 3th Individual
  • U700, U1200, Open (USCF Rated) Trophies: 1st- 5th Individual
  • Unrated sections
    • 5 SS rounds, G/25, d5
    • MSU Student and Faculty sponsored by INDICO, for adults
  • Rated sections
    • 3 SS rounds, G/50, d10

The combined score of the top four players from the same school determines that team’s score in the Team Standings. Teams can consist of 2 to 4 players. Individuals are welcomed to play if they have no team.

USCF Membership

  • Current USCF Membership is required for players in USCF Rated sections.
  • Memberships available on-site or by clicking the button above.

Team Trophies

1st - 5th Place “Team” can consist of a mix of rated/unrated players in the same Grade Level Group. Rated Points DOUBLED for Team Score

  • Top Prize in each section
  • 1 Biggest Upset Award (among all RATED players)
  • All K-1 and K-3 players will receive 3-D metal printed MSU Bulldog Queen Piece sponsored by CAVS.
  • Top 2 players in K-5, K-8 and K-12 divisions will receive MSU Summer Camp scholarship sponsored by BCoE K-12 outreach program.
