BCoE Distinguished Fellows 2026: William Bradley “Brad” Clark

May 18, 2026

Congratulations to our 2026 Distinguished Fellows!
Over the next few days, we will be highlighting each new Fellow.

William Bradley “Brad” Clark

Brad Clark volleys between his home in McComb, Mississippi and Starkville and Claiborne County, MS. He is the owner of Clark Construction, Inc. of MS in McComb.

He graduated from MSU in 1985 with a B.S. in civil engineering. This came naturally with his father, two uncles and a great uncle all receiving their B.S. in civil engineering and now his son Andy. He went to work in 1985 with his father, Jimmy. The construction company primarily worked in MS and began working with Wal-Mart in 1987. He bought the company from his father in 2001. The business was soon expanded into 24 states, working for private repeat clients such as Wal-Mart, Sam's, Lowe's, Southern Tire Mart and various private developers for multifamily housing and assisted living facilities. Clark has done over 100 projects for Wal-Mart. He has also done some development work, including in Starkville and other states.

He has been instrumental in the leadership of Southern Construction Group (SCG) for 20 years. SCG is an offshore captive insurance group serving 54 contractors to provide insurance solutions for various lines of insurance. He is working with SCG to establish scholarships for students interested in the construction field.

Clark believes that his engineering degree gives a broad skill set that can be applied to a broad spectrum, and that education is just a toolbox to be honed with experience. There have been numerous projects deemed to be unfeasible that were value-engineered back into budget due to the education he received from MSU.

He is passionate about helping high school graduates in mentoring them through college. The Old School Rules is a frequent conversation with high school graduates to help prepare them for college and beyond. Clark believes we all have an obligation to mentor the younger generation to help them get a good start in their careers.

Clark is married to Jeanna Payne Clark, and they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
