For the ninth consecutive year, Scotland-based engineering firm Petex has renewed its $6.5million software donation to Mississippi State University.
The donation benefits MSU’s Department of Geosciences and the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering by equipping students with industry-standard tools as part of their academic curriculum. Engineering students gain access to a suite of licenses for software including PROSPER, GAP, PVTP, MBAL, REVEAL and RESOLVE, all widely used in industry for petroleum engineering analysis and optimization.
“This long-term partnership continues to provide value for our students, giving them in-depth experience with the same software tools actually used in the oil and gas industry,” said Bagley College of Engineering Dean Dave Ford. “We appreciate the generosity of Petex.”
