Each year, the event aims to encourage Girl Scouts across the state to pursue an interest in STEM. With almost 100 attendees registered, the event offers an engaging day of hands-on experiments and discussions about the world of chemical engineering.

The event will kick off at 9:00 AM with check-in, followed by a keynote presentation and demonstration by AICHE vice-president Rayne Rutherford. Attendees will explore various aspects of chemical engineering, participate in exciting experiments, and earn a STEM certification badge.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a diverse group of organizations to this year's Girl Scout Day,” Rutherford said. “Our goal is to showcase the versatility of chemical engineering and to encourage young girls to explore the many career paths available in STEM. It’s crucial that they understand the opportunities that lie ahead, whether they’re interested in pharmaceuticals, energy, or environmental science.”

The event will feature panelists from various disciplines, including representatives from the National Organization of Black Chemical Engineers student organization and Student Members of the American Chemical Society.
