Mississippi State University’s James Worth Bagley College of Engineering wishes to congratulate Doug Hall, of Picayune, Miss., for receiving an Engineering Excellence Scholarship. This award is payable over eight semesters and will combine with Hall’s other scholarships to cover his cost of tuition while at MSU. The James Worth Bagley College of Engineering awards Engineering Excellence Scholarships primarily based on students’ academic achievements and ACT scores.
Hall, who earned an ACT composite score of 33, participated in the Bagley College of Engineering’s summer Quest Program. The Quest Program offers rising high school seniors the opportunity to complete research in many different areas of engineering with Mississippi State’s diverse engineering faculty.
As a high school student Hall developed an appreciation for chemistry spurring him to select chemical engineering as his program of study at Mississippi State, but academics are not his only focus. While maintaining a core high school GPA of 4.0 he was also active in the Fellowship of Christian Students, FBLA and BETA Club. As a member of his high school’s swim team he holds 11 school records and helped earn a South State Championship title.
Doug Hall is the son of Kenneth and Nancy Hall. He graduated from Picayune Memorial High School and will begin class at Mississippi State in the fall.
