At their national conference in Denver, the Women in Engineering Proactive Network (WEPAN) recognized Donna Reese, an associate dean for the Bagley College of Engineering, with the highly coveted Presidential Award. The honor is given to individuals who work to improve engineering education, and contribute to the success of aspiring young women in engineering.

Reese, a member of the Mississippi State University family since 1989, has served as the BCoE’s associate dean for academics and administration for four years. She has earned numerous accolades throughout her career including being named a Grisham Master Teacher and awarded an Outstanding Faculty Adviser award from the National Academic Advising Association.

An active member in numerous professional organizations, Reese currently serves as the membership committee chair for WEPAN and is the Program Chair-Elect for the Women in Engineering Division of the American Society for Engineering Education.

WEPAN, a nonprofit educational organization founded in 1990, sponsors more than 175 women in engineering programs and initiatives at American colleges and universities that serve nearly 43,000 female engineering students.
