Starkville, Miss. – Mississippi State University’s James Worth Bagley College of Engineering wishes to congratulate Jason King, of Biloxi, Miss., for receiving a Southwest Chemical Association scholarship. A senior chemical engineering major, he was nominated by Mississippi State’s chemical engineering faculty to compete for the national scholarship based on his GPA, character, activities and vision for the future.
Expected to graduate in May 2008, King has completed three semesters of cooperative education with Albemarle Corporation and is currently serving as a summer intern for ExxonMobil in Louisiana. While in school at Mississippi State, he has served as secretary for American Institute of Chemical Engineers and president of Omega Chi Epsilon Chemical Engineering Honor Society. He has also been active in Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
King’s academic pursuits have helped him earn many honors including: Swalm Scholarship, Shackouls-Burlington Engineering Scholarship and Jack A. Wilson Engineering Scholarship. After graduation, he hopes gain more experience in the field of chemical engineering and further his education by earning a master’s degree in business administration.
Jason King is the son of Cecil and Deborah King and a 2003 graduate of Saint Martin High School.
