Developed by Shana Lee, Director of Educational Outreach & Support Programs, and her team, the initiative was created to expand access to engineering education beyond campus. While the college’s summer camps continue to fill up quickly, the outreach team saw an opportunity to reach even more students across Mississippi, especially those who may not have the ability to attend in-person programs.

“We hope to spark students’ interest in engineering while introducing them to educational pathways and career opportunities,” Lee said.

The subscription-based program serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade and follows the academic year, running from August through May. Beginning in early September, participants receive age-appropriate mailings that include interactive STEM activities, educational materials, letters from engineers and other engaging content. Additional bonus materials and updates are shared through email and social media throughout the year.

The cost is $40 per student for the full academic year. Registration is currently open and will close on August 31.
