STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Bagley College of Engineering recognized 15 student research projects at the spring Undergraduate Research Poster Competition awards ceremony.

Thirty-six undergraduate engineering students presented their research at the inaugural competition April 23-24 in the Mitchell Memorial Library Grisham Room.

Chemical engineering senior Jeremy Walker took home the $1,000 grand prize for the best overall poster and presentation.

“This is a great forum for undergraduate students to highlight their research work,” said interim dean Jason Keith. “I am impressed with the effort the students put into their posters and the quality of their presentations. Just as impressive was the level of preparation the students needed to be able to effectively answer questions from the judges.”

Participants could place in one of three award categories to earn a certificate and a cash award. Superior award winners received $500, while Distinguished and Meritorious award winners earned $300 and $200, respectively.

Faculty volunteers served as the judges for the competition. Each poster was judged for scope and depth of research, design and content, and presentation.

Those recognized include:

GRAND PRIZE — Jeremy Walker, chemical engineering senior

SUPERIOR — Timothy McGrath, aerospace engineering junior and Jeremy Walker, chemical engineering senior
