October 11, 2017

Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering will welcome the CEO and president of an international oil and gas exploration company for an upcoming fall seminar.

Hosted by MSU’s chapter of the American Association for Drilling Engineers (AADE), the seminar will take place on Thursday, October 19, at 6 p.m., in McCool Hall 128 and will feature John J. Christmann IV of Apache Corporation.

In his 20 years with Apache Corporation, Christmann has held various positions in business development and leadership before being appointed as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2014. The following year, he was appointed to his current position of CEO and president.

Christmann prefaced his career of nearly 30 years in the oil and gas industry by earning a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a master’s of business administration from Southern Methodist University.

As a large-scale oil and gas exploration and production company, Apache Company aims to explore innovative resource possibilities, while maintaining a focus on environmental responsibility.
