C Spire, Nokia Bell Labs create fellowship for Mississippi engineering students

Two national companies are collaborating on a fellowship opportunity designed specifically for Mississippi engineering students.

C Spire and Nokia Bell Labs have combined forces to create a prestigious fellowship open only to engineering and computer science undergraduate students at Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi.

The fellowship allows juniors and seniors at the two universities to develop professional skills by working on cutting edge projects in telecommunications and technology. Selected students will build mentoring relationships with company experts and receive a stipend of $2,500 per semester for living expenses, along with potential post-graduate employment opportunities at both C Spire and Nokia Bell Labs.

Headquartered in Ridgeland, Mississippi, C Spire is the nation’s largest privately held wireless provider, specializing in consumer wireless, gigabit home internet and fiber optics.

Nokia Bell Labs specializes in research and innovation for the Finnish company, Nokia. With 8 Nobel Prizes, the company has made scientific breakthroughs that have transformed the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry.
