May 20, 2026

Congratulations to our 2026 Distinguished Fellows!
Over the next few days, we will be highlighting each new Fellow.

John Thomas Robertson

Sunflower County native John Thomas Robertson graduated from MSU in 2009 with a degree in biological engineering and earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2013. Upon graduating from law school, he worked as an attorney for Pinnacle Agriculture in Memphis, where he worked with management on company transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leases, litigation contracts and real estate purchases. After leaving the legal world, Robertson returned home to become a partner in St Rest Planting Company in Holly Ridge, where he farms soybeans, corn and cotton with his brother, James Robertson and first cousin, Will Long.

Robertson credits his time at MSU and the education he received in Biological Engineering for teaching him skills that he uses on a daily basis. He has served on the advisory board for the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering for three years. He is a proud fourth-generation MSU Bulldog.

Robertson lives in Indianola, MS and is actively involved in the First Methodist Church of Indianola. In his free time, he enjoys attending MSU athletic events and spending time with his family and godchildren.
