Outstanding Achievement at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition

February 19, 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the Mississippi State University Society of Petroleum Engineers student chapter has garnered well-deserved recognition for excellent technical content and community involvement at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition. Held in San Antonio in 2023, the international conference is a hallmark event for petroleum engineers and petroleum engineering students worldwide.

The Mississippi State SPE chapter was the sole chapter recognized in the eastern North American region and one of only eight U.S. SPE student chapters among 94 chapters around the world recognized for excellence. This remarkable achievement showcases the unwavering commitment and dedication of our students and faculty members. Congratulations are also extended to SPE’s faculty advisor, Amin Amirlatifi, whose guidance and leadership have played a pivotal role in this success. Equally deserving of praise are our current and past students, whose remarkable contributions have propelled the petroleum engineering program at Mississippi State to new heights.

This achievement not only reflects the excellence within our academic community but also demonstrates the global impact of the Bagley College of Engineering. We take immense pride in this recognition and look forward to continued success and innovation in the field of petroleum engineering.
