An interdisciplinary team led by Mississippi State researchers is receiving a $1.7 million grant to better equip emergency planners and other stakeholders to reduce the vulnerability of disadvantaged communities to the impacts of wildfires and related cascading hazards such as mudslides, landslides and flooding.
State Spotlight: Where Rubber Meets the Asphalt
Jessica Lewis, a graduate student in the Bagley College of Engineering, prepares a bio-based rejuvenated asphalt specimen for wheel tracking testing in the Asphalt Pavement Analyzer Jr., a machine now housed in MSU’s Richard A. Rula Engineering and Science Complex. The new 70,000-square-foot building is home to the Rula School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
